And now, five reasons I love steampunk.
1. Floating mechanical castles
2. Because where else can you take over the world with only science and a really awesome facemask?
3. Airships
4. Because you can introduce a guy with a mechanical arm, and nobody ever asks how it works.

5. AIRSHIPS!!
(Seriously, I don't know what's wrong with me either, but LOOK AT THESE! AREN'T THEY AWESOME?)
I'm just a bit in love with airship#3. *swoon*
ReplyDeleteAdam,
ReplyDeleteMy only Steampunk experience is The Golden Compass. Do you have a few you would recommend?
I have some ideas for a Renaissance age clockpunk novel, but need to do some research on the genre
Ahh. So THAT's what you meant by 5(ish). :P My favorite is the FFXI one, though the Chinese one is really cool, too!
ReplyDeleteOMG I've only read a few steampunk works, mostly comics, but I want the Chinese Dragon airship. I want two. Droooools....
ReplyDeleteI would love the dragon ship more if the propellers didn't look like they were made out of popsicle sticks. That floating castle is awesome though. I don't think I've ever read steampunk with a floating castle.
ReplyDeleteMy steampunk arm actually works (you have me pictured at #4)
